This week the Infant class explored the color red! We began our week exploring the color red using red colored water in a bucket using measuring cups. The class splashed their hands up and down, in and out of the water. Some of our other activities included; ice cube paintings, using water colors to paint, making a red collage using crayons and water colors, apple print paintings, light and shadows with red cellophane paper, and filling and dumping using red sand. Our infant class had a busy and fun time exploring the different sensory activities!
During our large group morning meetings we sang some new songs and familiar songs and nursery rhymes about the color red, their names, and their teachers names. We noticed they are enjoying the songs by joining in with clapping their hands and bouncing their bodies to the beats!
Next week we look forward to continuing with our color exploration with the color “Blue”, the class will continue using textures and sensory materials such as, blueberries, whipped cream, and gak to introduce the color of the week.
