The young infants explored cause and effect this week through bubble play, building blocks, board book dominos, and building, then knocking over wrapped packages. We welcomed a new friend, Inez, to our class.
The middle aged infants explored cause and effect through block play, dump and fill, push and pull activities. The towers blocks were the highlight of the week as the infants enjoyed domino affect of the blocks falling down in a sequence as well as stacking them up high like jenga.
Our oldest students focused air and socialization. Ms. Amy introduced a game to demonstrate the concept of moving air called “Flap-a-Fish”. With colored card stock, our Ones flapped “fish” (tissue paper) around the room. Quickly, the game turned into “Let’s make a gust of wind with paper!” Later in the week, our Ones visited next door and engaged in social activities with the older one year class.
Next Weeks Focus…….
The younger and middle infants will continue their focus with cause and effect activities. They learn about cause and effect when they shake a rattle and hear a sound, or when they pull on their mother’s glasses and hear her voice (much sterner than usual) tell them not to pull! We just want to further their curiosity as we continue these activities. The young ones focus will be literacy a we celebrate Dr, Seuss birthday this week.
