More Garden Fun and Surprise Readers

More Garden Fun

We’ve worked hard on our vegetable garden and fairy garden this week! We’ve watched strawberries and potatoes grow outside of our window in planter boxes, and we’re excited about the seeds that will be planted during the work day this Saturday in our garden boxes. In our fairy garden, we have been working on making faces out of clay to add character to the trees.

Rose, Kiki, and London noticed our strawberries are growing fast. “Why are they green?” asked Rose. “Look! There’s flowers on the plant!” observed Siena.

Dominic, Maddie, Rose, and Jack R. making bird feeders for our fairy garden made out of a pinecone, sunflower seed butter, and seeds. We got to help Mr. Jermaine hang them from the trees.

Maddie, Logan, Holden, and Kiki exploring different types of clay and how we can make them into faces for our fairy garden. We used pictures of statues as inspiration.

Taco Tuesday and Guest Readers

This Tuesday, Rose’s parents came in to read us a story and help us make lunch! We read the story Dragons Love Tacos and learned about different ingredients in tacos that we like and dislike. Then, we got to make our own! Our favorite ingredients were the cheese and beans.

Our surprise reader, Rose’s mom, reading us Dragons Love Tacos.

Alexander was our surprise reader on Thursday. He read us Pete the Cat and His Magical Sunglasses all by himself.

We are hoping to have more surprise readers come read to us on Fridays! We love reading new books with our classmates families, and it’s a great treat for us at the end of the week. If you’re interested in coming in as a surprise reader, please sign up on the Google Doc below or let us know and we’ll help find a time for you to come in.
