Adventures in The Pre-K Room.

Posted on January 31, 2017   |   Category: Pre-K Blog   |   Print this page

We all have been working on communicating with one another. One of the best ways to do so is through our classroom agreements. We are discussing what we expect from our friends and what the teacher expects form the students. After talking we have decided on 5 classroom  agreements. We wrote our agreements down on a big sheet of paper and had everyone sign their name.

  1. Use gentle hands.
  2. Use gentle feet.
  3. Use listening ears.
  4. Use kind words.
  5. Treat our materials nicely.

Germs!!!!

Hygeine is one of the most important things at school. We have been talking about germs and what germs are. One of the books that we read often is “Those Mean Nasty Dirty Downright Disgusting but…..  Invisible Germs.” The book discusses how germs get on our hands from playing and other daily routines. The book also talks about different germs and invites the children to use their imagination to think about what the germ might look like. The book inspired our firends to create a germ that they remember getting sick from or one that they made up. A few friends drew their pictures of germs and some made them out of clay.

Creating Roads

Our friends love our new wooden cars that we have received this month. They wanted to created a road that they could drive on. They use tape, scissors, blocks and of course the floor to construct their roads. IMG_1677

All of our friends view the world very differently. And we as teacher are here to nurture their many visions. We are always encourage our friends to put their visions down on paper or build them. Well here are a few pictures that show their many talents

Creating Our Class Flag!

The class took a vote and dolphin won the name of our classroom. We are creating a flag and we wanted to make sure you would see our dolphin symbol. Mrs. Brandi brought in a big drawing of a dolphin and she helped assist our friends in screen printing the dolphin onto our flag.
