Gardening, Flowers and Much More Fun with Infants!

Posted on April 25, 2016   |   Category: Infants Blog   |   Print this page

Younger Infants

The babies were busy painting flower pots, putting soil in the pots, and planting flower seeds. Sarah Kate took one fistful of soil, turned up her nose and decided the activity was not for her. The itty bitty’s observed with curiosity as this activity unfolded. There were neighborhood walks that were full of interesting noises, people, and beautiful blooming plants. A great week to be outdoors and plant new seeds.

Middle Infants/Toddlers

The infant/toddler continued their focus on mark making. Children begin their journey towards writing by making marks, not by producing letters and words.  The marks children make slowly begin to have more meaning for them, and you will be able to see this by listening to what they say when they play with pens, crayons and paper. We also celebrated Benjamin’s first birthday!

Next Week

Young Infants

Next week the planting theme will continue, a long with a little introduction to water play as the plants are watered and cared for. And of course, weather permitting, more neighborhood walks.

Middle Infants

The middle infants will start their focus on gardening and exploring flowers as it leads up to our very first field trip to the Botanical Gardens!

Remember to sign our daily field trip forms so that your little one does not miss out on the beautiful walks we take when the weather is great!

Remember to put sunscreen on your child before morning drop-off. We will reapply sunscreen in the afternoon.

If your child has a water sippy please remember to take it home EVERYDAY!
