November 21st and 22nd

Younger infants :

The young infants have been exploring fruit and their textures for a few weeks now. It has been fun and amazing to watch these little ones be hands on, especially our solid food eaters! Eating solid foods is a new and unusual experience for your baby. Continuing to offer your child new flavors and textures will eventually make mealtime enjoyable for both of you. Relax and enjoy sharing all these new discoveries.

Upcoming…
Over the next few weeks our friends will explore paper, light and shadow. They have shown some interest in these explorations and we can’t wait to see how fun this will be!

Older Infants:

This week in the older infant room we continued our molding and sculpting thread. We also added in different sensory aspects to our thread. On Monday we used lemon and orange extract and added this to the Playdough for the children to experience different smells while sculpting with the Playdough. On Tuesday we focused on pressing different shapes of macaroni into the Playdough. Oliver really loved this activity. He really enjoyed pressing the bowtie noodles into the playdough. Next week we are going to shift our focus in a different direction and we will begin to work with lights and shadows. We are going to see what different activities the children enjoy during light and shadow exploration and develop further activities that capture their attention from there. We hope you all have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving holiday and look forward to seeing you on Monday!
