The Infants This Week: Friendship, Cups and Mark Making!

This week in the youngest infants group, it was all about love and friendship. The babies enjoyed spending time together reading books, singing songs and chasing toys around! Finn made friends with an older child who was playing on the playground. They played together through the window for several minutes.

Next week we will explore cause and effect.

This week the middle infants explored stacking biodegradable cups. With the help of the older infants, we discovered hidden objects under the cups.

We also celebrated Thomas’ first birthday with a lovely story and delicious cup cakes with a candle and singing!

imageThe older infants have been focusing on some early writing this week. Some are beginning to hold writing tools and are exploring making marks using mixed media. Squiggles, dots and lines are beginning to be more purposeful and controlled. Some used their hands and others even two hands!

Next week we will be experimenting with moving air and printing. As with all the infant groups, we will also be working hard on our artistic masterpiece for the anniversary auction on March 5th!

Reminders

Please ensure your child has at least 3 weather appropriate outfits (layers) in their cubby including socks. (and shoes for walkers)

Please continue to wash your own and your child’s hands on arrival and also when you pick up to help us keep everyone healthy.
